CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: After reaching the 30-goal mark in his two previous years, Parise had a breakout 2008-09 season. He established career highs with 45 goals, 49 assists and 94 points, finishing third in the NHL in goals and fifth in points while setting a Devils record for shots in a season (364). Parise made his first All-Star appearance in January 2009 and was a finalist for the Lady Byng Trophy, which was won by Pavel Datsyuk. He had three goals and six points in seven playoff games in 2008-09, giving him 12 goals and 24 points in 32 career postseason contests. Parise served as an alternate captain for Team USA at the 2008 World Championship and had five goals and eight points in seven games of that tournament. Zach’s father, J.P., played 14 seasons in the NHL, most notably with the Minnesota North Stars and New York Islanders.
