CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: After averaging 33 points in his first two seasons with the Flyers, Richards blossomed into an elite scorer with 28 goals, 47 assists and a team-high 75 points in 2007-08. He also added seven goals and seven assists in 17 playoff games that year as Philadelphia advanced to the Eastern Conference finals. Richards, who signed a 12-year, $69 million contract extension on Dec. 13, 2007, also made his first All-Star team that season. Named team captain before the start of the 2008-09 season, Richards responded with career highs of 30 goals - including a league-best seven short-handed - 50 assists and 80 points. He was also a finalist for the Selke Trophy as the league’s best defensive forward.
