Career Highlights:

Gulini first started riding when she was nine years old, and it didn’t take long for her to get serious about snowboarding. She began taking part in her first snowboardcross competitions soon after and, five years later, moved from Utah to train in Vail, Colorado, as she sought to become one of the world’s best. Gulini's dedication and hard work was rewarded when she earned a spot at the Vancouver Games four years ago. There, she made it through the qualification rounds of the snowboardcross competition, but was eliminated in the quarterfinals. Following her Olympic debut, Gulini continued to work on her skills and secured a place in the 2011 world championships in both snowboardcross and slopestyle for the first time. She also took home a top-10 finish at the Winter X Games that year. Though she had to overcome a knee injury, Gulini soared to a second-place finish at the U.S. Grand Prix in 2012 before winning the event last year. She was able to qualify for her second straight Winter Games by placing in the top eight at the World Cup event at the Olympic venue in Sochi, so she comes into Russia armed with experience on the course.
